Mohamed Salah hilariously revealed that he has a secret identity playing chess online – seeing him double bluff his fans in a bizarre tactical ploy
Mohamed Salah incredibly has a secret identity playing online chess which he uses to double bluff fans he comes up against.
The Liverpool star spends most of his time feinting and out foxing his opponents on the football pitch but he also hilariously revealed that he also has opponents on strings when playing online chess.
As one of the world’s most famous sports stars, many would use a different handle when playing online games so people don’t know they’re coming up against such a renowned name. However, in Salah’s case, he has a different approach.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday, Salah said: “I put my name and some other numbers so some people ask ‘are you Mo Salah?’, I say yes (but) they don’t believe it. ‘No, you are lying’, I say ‘yes I am lying!’”
Salah loves indulging in a bit of chess to unwind, playing at a score of 1400, with the Egyptian previously posting pictures of him playing against friends and even his young daughter on social media.
Fans found Salah’s tactic hilarious on social media, one fan labelled him “savage” with a second adding: “Imagine playing Salah at online chess!” While a third pondered whether his chess skills actually improve his performance on the pitch, they said: “Salah the chess freak…. I reckon the ability to make plans, anticipate and analyse on the fly would mean there’s a lot of crossover between creative footballers and chess.”
Salah has again made a brilliant start to the campaign with him already notching ten goals in 12 Premier League games going into the table topping clash at the Etihad against City.
